As ever with Magnum boots, these are designed to perform at the highest level, tested and certified to European Standard en 20347:2004 for occupational footwear.

It features a 2.2mm suede upper with 1200 denier nylon panel and ion-mask technology for unrivalled protection. ion-mask is a patented plasma-based technology, originally developed for the UK military, to repel chemicals and protect soldiers from chemical attack.

It permanently alters the surface of a product at a molecular level to repel water and other liquids even blood pathogens which are forced to bead up like mercury and simply run-off to protect the wearer.

Magnum use the highest density Ortholite: OrthoLite .13, which offers optimum levels of breathability, moisture transport, and anti-microbial function to create a cooler, drier, and healthier environment inside the boot.

Ortholite footbeds provide highly resilient support and cushioning, far longer than conventional footbeds, while fighting odour with an environmentally friendly biocide treatment. Ortholite quality footbeds utilise a specialist foam material crafted from an open cell polyurethane layer which has been proven to retain 95% of its cushioning after the first year, opposed to the 30% some of EVA footbeds.

Vibram soles are always produced with three objectives: to guarantee the best performance, the maximum level of comfort and long lasting quality. It features an exclusive fast rope protection area built into the outsole that uses a V4 compound designed by Vibram. Working in tandem with a Superfabric medial panel, this unique combination of technologies offers unsurpassed resistance to abrasion damage during rappel work.

There is also a Tec-Tuff toe bumper, made from specially treated leather which is 100 times more abrasion resistant than standard leather and a Breathe Right perforated foam lining maximises breathability and comfort whilst keeping the boots lightweight.
